We have updated and improved our data synchronisation with Garmin Connect. We now support the latest version of the Garmin Connect APIs.
In addition, we have added the ability to synchronise health and wellness data coming from your Garmin devices.
First, establish the Garmin Connect connection in Selfloops (Settings -> Applications). Then, make sure you enable the “Daily Health Stats” options in the Garmin Connect website. You can enable or disable these options also at a later time. You can find these options in the Settings -> Account Information in Garmin Connect website. See below how this looks like.
The daily health stats that we currently import include metrics such as sleep, steps, VO2 Max, weight (and body composition), heart rate at rest, active calories, Body Battery, Garmin stress index.
You can find your health and wellness data in Selfloops in the Health section.
In the past several years we have built an advanced platform that is able to track and analyse a lot of data at scale. Users of the Selfloops platform are athletes; coaches that need to track and analyse their athletes’ sports performance; and gyms that use the group fitness service for cardio, HIIT, cycling, rowing and many other types of sports and workouts.
We have now decided to bring the power of our platform to approved partners and customers. The way we are offering this service is through the use of a set of APIs (Application Programming Interface). The APIs allow an application or a service to interact with the Selfloops platform and can be used to create branded and personalised experiences.
With the new APIs, a gym can automatically synchronise its clients to Selfloops, directly or through a gym management software. A business can synchronise information with the Selfloops platform and integrate data into its branded website or smartphone apps. Examples of data that can be integrated are class schedules and clients sign-ups, historical workouts analysis and leaderboards.
The new API allows businesses to elevate their brand and provide a personalised experience to their customers.
The Activity Feed is a feature that allows coaches to see all the latest activities of their athletes at once.
It is possible to choose the date range and the metrics to be visualised. In addition, the coach can add notes to the activities and reply to any of the athletes’ notes.
This is a powerful tool for coaches to provide a prompt feedback to all their athletes and keep track of their activities in a single screen.
If you have many athletes, the Activity Feed is a great tool.
The most advanced Apple Watch app, Selfloops Spark
Spark is the only application for Apple Watch that supports the Group Fitness heart rate tracking service with users having to wear just the Apple Watch to join a class (no need for additional accessories or heart rate monitors.)
The Selfloops Spark Apple Watch app can connect to rowers, treadmills and bikes using the FTMS Bluetooth protocol. It is the only app that can do this tracking.
You can also stream your heart rate data over the Internet with our Selfloops Streams service for live classes using your Apple Watch.
