Using Garmin wearables with the Selfloops Fitness app

Garmin has released sport watches and wrist-based fitness trackers with built-in optical heart rate monitors.

These units are able to broadcast heart rate data using ANT+ and newer models are also able to broadcast data using the Bluetooth Smart protocol.

Devices that broadcast heart rate data using the Bluetooth Smart protocol are supported by the Selfloops Fitness app.

To enable the Bluetooth Smart transmision you should use the “Virtual Run” profile in your device. This profile has been created for running on a treadmill (it also broadcasts pace and cadence via Bluetooth), but it can be used for any activity you want.

This feature is supported on most of the 2019/2020 models. At the moment, the supported watches are the Garmin Forerunner 245, Forerunner 945, Fenix 6 Series. Please check the Garmin support website for the latest updates.

Training with a pro in Live Streaming

On Tuesday 28 April at 19.00 Italian time (6pm in London, 1pm New York, 10am San Francisco, 2pm Rio de Janeiro) the professional cyclist Marco Benfatto will train in Live Streaming in a session open to all amateur and pro cyclists.

The initiative will be carried out using the latest innovative Selfloops Streams platform that allows users to live streaming their video and performance during a training session.

All participants will be able to stream their heart rate and view their data during the event, thus comparing themselves with the other athletes and enthusiasts in the session.

In these lockdown weeks it is very important for a professional cyclist, as well as for an amateur, to maintain a state of form with targeted workouts at home. This is why the Bardiani CSF Faizanè team, in collaboration with Selfloops, has decided to organize a live training session led by the professional athlete Marco Benfatto.

Participation to the event is totally FREE, to register simply follow the instructions at this LINK.

To take part in the session you need an indoor bike or a trainer and a Bluetooth heart rate monitor. If you do not have them, you can just watch the session. This first session has been designed by Marco to be suitable for all levels of preparation and training.

The event will be the first in a series of live events organized by SELFLOOPS.

A new redesigned powerful calendar

The calendar is an important tool for an athlete. In the calendar, an athlete checks past workouts and also visualizes and manages planned future workouts.

We have now redesigned the calendar. Together with a modern look and beautiful design, the new calendar brings a lot of new functionalities.

The new calendar shows the summary of each week. It is possible to add new workouts with a simple click. It is also possible to copy & paste planned workouts and move them around. The infinite scrolling makes the calendar easy to navigate. These features transform the calendar in a great tool for coaches and athletes alike.

InBody integration

We have integrated our platform with the leader in body composition technology, InBody. What it means in practice is that any time you analyze your body composition with an Inbody device you will have the data saved in the Selfloops website.

By integrating body composition analysis with your activities we can provide a more comprehensive view of your fitness level and sports performance.

With this integration we are bringing sports performance analysis to the next level.

The integration can be activated by the athletes in the Settings section of the website.

The data will appear on the Health section and weight the line chart will include the weight, fat percentage and skeletal muscle mass.

It is also possible to have a more detailed analysis in the History section.

We believe this is a great addition to our platforms. We provide the tools that allow coaches and athletes to track analyze sports performance. You can only improve what you measure!
